According to NFIB's Monthly Jobs Report, of the 62% of small business owners trying to hire in August, 90% reported few or now qualified applicants.
Friendly Reminder: September 15 Quarterly Income Tax Payments Due
Although it's not a calendar quarterly date, Q3 tax payments are due to the IRS (and likely your state taxing authority) on Sept. 15. The traditional quarters were moved in the 1960s so Congress could start their Oct. 1 fiscal year with an influx of cash from Sept. 15 payments. Even the
IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service realizes this is a huge burden and is asking for a change, but until then get the checkbook or digital ACH ready to make that payment.

A client was assessed a failure to file penalty in the amount of $29,920 for the late filing of a partnership return for tax year 2022. They asked us to review the situation to see if they might be entitled to any penalty relief. Our review indicated relief might be possible, and the IRS agreed to abate the penalty in full.
